Objective:

• Work for the Ministry of Transport (Saudi Arabia) and define, create, and implement the transportation's best practices, vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve the Transportation model.
• Define the Transportation Policies and related documentation.
• Provide The international benchmark in Transportation policies and study current transportation systems, analyzing effectiveness, use, and needs.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Define the Transportation Strategic approach and policies for operation, provision and management of facilities and services for the modes of transport to achieve safer, faster, comfortable, convenient, economical and environment-friendly movement of people and goods.
• Studies proposed transportation policies, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the plans.
• Conduct assessment to identify the best transportation model.
• Develop a relevant Government Transportation vision for the next 10 years.
• To be responsible for the development and implementation of sustainable transport initiatives in line with national, regional and sub-regional transport policy, both internally within the organization and externally within other organizations.
• Participate in and contribute to internal and external conferences on the transport sector and other activities for advocacy, dissemination, and knowledge building.
• To work in partnership to develop and influence the uptake of transportation policies.
• Preparation of key Policy documents.
• Act as an expert witness at public inquiries and Transportation appeals.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Transportation Planning, Urban planning or in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 15+ years experience in performing strategic policy activities.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in the Transportation( Public, Road, Sea) domain.
• Must be versatile, able to work as part of a team or individually and communicate with authorities.
• Able to form solutions to potential transport problems and will be required to make decisions.
• Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
• Proficient in using MS Office tools and Process Design tools.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Fluent in English; Arabic is considered as an asset for this role.
