3D CAD MODELER Professional

We have a vacancy for a 3D modeler with experience in structural steel Piping/Mechanical modeling for chemical plant design engineering company with the following qualifications and skills:

• Highly experienced with computer applications (CadWorx) for 2D for PFD & P&ID implementations (however this is a secondary role) as well as 2D /3D conversions both ways.
• Min 5 years experience in 3-D modeling of process plants especially in the areas of structural steel plants. Mechanical and piping layouts
• Experience in evaluation Mechanical specifications for conversion to 3D models.
• Substantial experience modeling in the oleo-chemical, chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical or food industries
• Good knowledge in the design of chemical piping systems
• Conversant with Caesar 2 pipe stress analysis software is an advantage
• You role may require you to occasionally support the mechanical implementation or start-up of some process plants
• Highly Computer literate

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluation & modeling to 3D of mechanical designs of equipment for process plants
• Preliminary structural steel 3D implementation and later detailed implementation of the structural design to 3D
• Preparation of plant, equipment layout and piping designs to 3D
• Implement client piping specifications into the 3D models (database) generate, review and check isometric drawings, bill of materials
• Co-ordination with the procurement department
• Assist to establish equipment designs 2D/3D for specifications.
• Review vendor specifications & implement to 3D and occasionally you may be requested to monitor equipment fabrication
• Occasional support of plant/mechanical/piping installation for mechanical handover of process plants
• Co-ordination of PDS and AutoCAD designs
• Review and develop as-built drawing upon project completion
